Matt Jacobson, Ph.D.

Dr. Jacobson is a computational biologist whose research interest is in the area of predictive protein modeling. By developing novel algorithms and implementing them in biological applications, he has made contributions to understanding principles of protein structure, protein-protein interactions, ligand docking, allostery and the nature of drug targets. The Jacobson lab develops a variety of high-level, energy-based and empirical algorithms, and key advances have been applied to the problems of protein and nucleic acid dynamics and flexibility. Dr. Jacobson leads the Computational Structural Biology Technology Core.
