Dr Gross is an NMR spectroscopist who studies the structure and dynamics of RNA-based processes. His lab is investigating the enyzmes and control of eukaryotic mRNA turnover and the molecular mechanisms of how viruses supress nucleic acid immune systems (RNAi and the APOBEC enzymes) in order to maintain a persistent infection.
