Dr. Alber has been a key participant in structural genomics efforts at Berkeley, where he heads the Keck Macrolab. His lab has determined structures that have illuminated fundamental principles of protein folding and protein interactions, and has recently developed exciting new approaches to examine protein flexibility and dynamics using crystallographic data. Dr. Alber also heads the UC Berkeley/UCSF PX beamline at the ALS.
